Monarch Aerial Arts offers aerial silks & lyra (aerial hoop) classes for all ages and skill levels in Brookings, South Dakota.

We strive to create and foster a welcoming and encouraging environment for aerialists of all ages and skill levels.

Our goal is to provide a safe and inclusive space for students to learn a unique skill set, increase their strength and flexibility, develop body awareness and coordination, and most of all, feel confident in their abilities and in themselves.

Meet Our Team

Joscelyne Larson

Studio Owner & Lead Instructor

Joscelyne Larson is the owner and lead instructor of Monarch Aerial Arts. She has been practicing aerial silks since 2014 and began co-teaching in 2015. She received her Aerial Silks Instructor Certification from the Circus Arts Institute in Atlanta, Georgia in 2018.

She has taught for various programs in the past, held workshops, judged aerial arts competitions, and enjoys developing curriculum for students.

She finds great joy in sharing this art form with others and watching her students’ confidence soar as they conquer new skills.

Liza Chang

Aerial Silks Instructor

Liza Chang is a beginner aerial silks instructor at Monarch Aerial Arts. She has been practicing aerial arts since 2020.

She received her Aerial Silks Instructor Certification from the Circus Arts Institute in Atlanta, Georgia in 2024.

Liza enjoys complex sequencing and exploring movement on various apparatus.
